Our new addition!

Sadly we lost one of our cats 2 weeks before christmas. She was a kitten we found dumped on the side of the road, and we are so sad she is gone. But earlier in the week our friend offered us a kitten....... and I said yes, completely going against what my hubby said! And although the girls were sad their cat is gone, they were very excited at the thought of a kitten. So we went and chose this one on Friday:
He is 8 weeks old, and we have named him Benji. It is so nice having a kitten around. He is sooo cuddley and playful! Just gorgeous :)

Well we have just got back from a fantastic christmas holiday with the family in Victoria. We spent a lot of time catching up with family, and only got one day out - we went to Lakes Entrance for a swim. Would you believe that it was hot down there! haha A highlight of xmas day was the fire truck - it has been going ever since I was a little girl, and now my girls got to see it. Santa gets driven in the local firetruck and he and his helpers throw out lollies to the kids. It was so exciting even now to hear the siren in the distance and wait for him :) I was also able to meet my nephew Kody for the first time - what a cutie he is!! Then at the end of our trip is the BIG drive back to QLD :( Very sad to say goodbye to everyone, and being in a car for 2 full days with the girls is hard. Usually we take 3 days to do it, but this time we did it in 2. I think because the girls are a little older now they handled it better. I hope you all had a happy new year - and that this is a less busy, less stressfull happy year for you all! On the craft side of things I have so many things I want to make, and I will try to make things for next xmas all through the year, not just at the end and rush! I found a really nice Patchwork shop in Barinsdale and brought some really cute fabric. I am hanging out to make something!!

Quilt for Kody

This is a shaggy blanket I made for my nephew, who is 9 months old, for a christmas present. It is a little bigger than a cot blanket, and should be good for snuggling up in as he gets older. As they live on a farm I was really excited to find fabric that had a farm theme! It is made from flannel and should keep him warm on a cold winter Victorian night!
