To Keep you up to date...

Well, a lot has happened these last few months! As you can see from the photo, I have been camping. This is from a weekend my hubby and I went by ourselves.... first time sleeping in a swag, out in the open, one luxury I had was a pop up toilet tent! So posh! We have also been out with the girls and plan to go again soon. I have taken up crochet, and am being taught by the nicest lady. She sits me down and shows me how to do it. I started with granny squares, then she has recently taught me a new square. I am really enjoying it! My new project I have on the go is a baby blanket..... for the new baby we are expecting, due in January!! Also recently found out our youngest daughter has epilepsy, so it has been kind of a rollercoatser of emotions! She is doing good. I have started making xmas cards too. My most recent are ones for my mother-in-law. She is from England, so sends cards there every year. I took photos of the native plants in her garden (banksia etc) and gum trees and have printed them out and put them on the front of the card. Then using my cuttlebug and foil stickers to finish them off. Dont have photos of those, but I need to make more so I'll be sure to take a photo of those. I have done a few small sewing projects too, but no photos! Sorry, I am so slack, but will try to pull out what I have done and upload :) Till next time...

Still here..

Ok, I am still ALIVE!!! Just so you know... Lots going on, and I am hoping to get this up and running soon. I do miss blogging!

Sorry...

For the lack of posts :( I have been up to so much, made quite a few things, but..... I need a new camera! So untill I get one there will be no photos. We have had the easter parades at school, a camping trip, cards I've made, some sewing etc, and I cant show you :( I really really miss my camera and feel lost without it. So hopefully I will have a new one soon....... and I can start blogging again!

Micks serenade...

My hubby has been trying to learn the guitar for a few months now, and I always tease him about it. I love nothing more than a man who can play and sing, but his practising drives me crazy and I'm not always as supportive as I should be! Anyway while getting things ready for Charlis party he came up to me and started playing a Johnny Cash song that he had practiced all weekend as a surprise! It sounded so good and I'm so proud of him for going well. Thank you...

A big girl now!

Charli has desperatly wanted her ears pierced for ages, and so yesterday, for her 8th birthday, she finally got them!! Here she is just after the first one. She was a little scared but did really well, not a sound from her really. And she looks so beautiful! They really suit her. Sorry about the quality of the photo, I think it's the camera. And look at Adel looking on! She wants hers done now......

Un-Valentines Day

Having gone down to Victoria for a family party, I missed seeing Mick on Valentines Day. Not that we do anything special, just a card. It just made me think how much I do love him! So when I went I left a box of chockies and a card that I made, and Charli gave it to Mick on the day. When I arrived home on Monday there was this beautiful potplant and card. I know he gave it to me cause I gave him something but who cares!! lol And the card.......he wrote some beautiful words, my favorite line was " I love being your wife". lol Poor mick, bit confused! But it was all gorgeous and I love him!!

Adels bag

I made this library bag for Adel, using a Rosalie Quinlan designs pattern "My Things", that my friend Catherine gave me. I have made mine a little different, but I am still so happy with the result! Ans so was Adel, she loved it and is using it already.

My friend...

As you know, we got a new kitten, Benji. Well Benji has taken to sitting in my machine while I sew! It is lovely and all that, I really like his company, but I do worry that the needle will get him! He pokes his paw in, plays with the cotton or fabrics on the table...... then has enough and falls asleep! Too cute!

Got the sewing bug!

Well since having the girls back at school I have got stuck into sewing, and have also done a LO and some cards. My mums 50th birthday is coming up so I made her a table runner and some cushion covers. She has a red couch so I am hoping like crazy that they will match!!

Our new addition!

Sadly we lost one of our cats 2 weeks before christmas. She was a kitten we found dumped on the side of the road, and we are so sad she is gone. But earlier in the week our friend offered us a kitten....... and I said yes, completely going against what my hubby said! And although the girls were sad their cat is gone, they were very excited at the thought of a kitten. So we went and chose this one on Friday:
He is 8 weeks old, and we have named him Benji. It is so nice having a kitten around. He is sooo cuddley and playful! Just gorgeous :)

Well we have just got back from a fantastic christmas holiday with the family in Victoria. We spent a lot of time catching up with family, and only got one day out - we went to Lakes Entrance for a swim. Would you believe that it was hot down there! haha A highlight of xmas day was the fire truck - it has been going ever since I was a little girl, and now my girls got to see it. Santa gets driven in the local firetruck and he and his helpers throw out lollies to the kids. It was so exciting even now to hear the siren in the distance and wait for him :) I was also able to meet my nephew Kody for the first time - what a cutie he is!! Then at the end of our trip is the BIG drive back to QLD :( Very sad to say goodbye to everyone, and being in a car for 2 full days with the girls is hard. Usually we take 3 days to do it, but this time we did it in 2. I think because the girls are a little older now they handled it better. I hope you all had a happy new year - and that this is a less busy, less stressfull happy year for you all! On the craft side of things I have so many things I want to make, and I will try to make things for next xmas all through the year, not just at the end and rush! I found a really nice Patchwork shop in Barinsdale and brought some really cute fabric. I am hanging out to make something!!

Quilt for Kody

This is a shaggy blanket I made for my nephew, who is 9 months old, for a christmas present. It is a little bigger than a cot blanket, and should be good for snuggling up in as he gets older. As they live on a farm I was really excited to find fabric that had a farm theme! It is made from flannel and should keep him warm on a cold winter Victorian night!
